	Movies in the Park
	FREE Movies in the Park at the Nichols Half Shell in Stewart Park

 

Brought to you by U.S.Cellular and The City of Roseburg Parks & Recreation Division.  Thank you to everyone that came out and enjoyed the first season of Movies in the Park.  With your support we hope to provide the Movies in the Park program again next summer!  Thank you, also, to the community organizations that provided pre-movie entertainment.

Thank you to Pepsi-Cola Bottling of Roseburg for generously providing the soda, Express Employment Professionals for providing popcorn, and Ruth Rountree for providing face painting at all of the movies! We would also like to express our thanks to Mercy Medical Center and the UCC Nursing Students for volunteering at the first aid booth.

Special thanks to the volunteers who helped each week with set up/take down of the equipment and making sure everything ran smoothly.  This includes:

The 3rd Annual Arbor Day celebration was held at the Stewart Park Pavilion on Saturday, April 18, from 10 am to 2 pm. In addition to free tree seedling giveaways, there were information booths, pruning demonstrations and activities for children. Staff would like to thank all of the participants. 

The 4th Annual Arbor Day celebration is scheduled for Saturday, April 10 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Stewart Park Pavilion.

Happy 150th Birthday to Oregon! The City of Roseburg joined with other communities around the state and participated in 'The Great Oregon Tree Plant' sponsored by the Oregon Department of Forestry.  Staff would like to extend their appreciation to all those who ventured into the rain and assisted in planting 150 trees and shrubs at the Stewart Park Natural Area.
